Beverage labels made for cold, wet, high-touch packaging

Juice bottles, craft soda bottles, energy drink cans, and RTD bottles are handled differently from dry shelf products. They may be refrigerated, placed in coolers, touched with wet hands, or exposed to condensation as they warm up after chilling. For this category, the safer starting point is PP White or PP Clear/Transparent waterproof material with a glossy laminate and, for glass and PET bottles, a permanent adhesive.

Regular Satin and Hi-gloss stocks can look good for dry indoor labels, but they are not waterproof. If your drinks are sold cold, stored in a ref, packed with ice, or wiped down before display, choose a waterproof PP material instead of an economical paper-type stock.

Which beverage label material should you choose?

Use caseSuggested materialWhy it fits
Everyday bottled juices and RTD drinks on smooth packagingPP Glossy White 1Waterproof glossy material for smooth bottles and indoor beverage packaging.
Curved bottles, cans, or packaging that needs stronger holdPP Glossy White 2Waterproof material suited for curved containers, rougher surfaces, and waterproof applications.
Refrigerated drinks or harder-to-stick bottlesPP Glossy White 3Waterproof glossy material for refrigerated or frozen products and hard-to-stick surfaces requiring maximum adhesion.
Clear bottles where you want the drink color to show throughPP Clear/TransparentTransparent waterproof film for no-background designs and clear packaging.

If your label has small text, nutrition-style panels, batch codes, or barcode areas, a white PP label usually gives stronger contrast. If your branding depends on a “printed on bottle” look, transparent PP works well, but remember that white ink effects and very light colors may appear differently on clear packaging or colored liquid backgrounds. Ask for a proof before printing if you are unsure.

Glossy laminate, matte, or specialty finish?

For beverage branding, glossy laminate is the recommended finish because it gives colors a bold, bright appearance that fits juice, soda, energy drink, and RTD packaging. It also adds a protective layer for normal wet handling and scuffing during packing, chilling, and delivery.

Matte laminate is available if you want a softer, less reflective label, but it may not give the same shiny “cold drink” shelf impact. Holographic, Broken Glass, Snow Flakes, and Glitter laminations can be used for limited editions or flavor launches, but use them carefully: busy effects can make ingredient lists, net content, and date-marking areas harder to read.

How to size beverage labels before ordering

For wrap labels on bottles and cans

  1. Measure the straight wall height only. Avoid the shoulder, neck, curved base, rim, grooves, or tapered areas where the label may wrinkle or lift.
  2. Measure the container circumference around the label area, then subtract a small gap so the ends do not overlap. A clean gap helps prevent edge lifting when bottles are wet or cold.
  3. Check the seam direction. For hand-applied labels, decide where you want the gap or seam to sit, usually at the back or side of the bottle.

For front-and-back labels

  1. Measure the flat or gently curved panel where the label will sit.
  2. Leave room around the edge so the sticker does not run into ridges, embossing, bottle curves, or can seams.
  3. Make sure the front label has enough space for brand and flavor visibility, while the back label can carry ingredients, maker details, lot or batch identification, and date marking if needed.

Sticker Central can produce custom shapes and contour cuts within a maximum print area of 13 x 19 inches per sheet. If your container is unusual, send a photo of the bottle or can with measurements so the label size can be checked before printing.

What can go wrong with beverage labels?

  • Peeling on curves: Labels placed over shoulders, ridges, or tight tapers may lift. Use the straight wall area and choose a PP material suited for curved containers.
  • Condensation: Moisture can weaken non-waterproof labels. PP waterproof material is the practical choice for chilled drinks.
  • Wet bottle handling: Bottles touched by wet hands or placed in coolers need a label and laminate that can handle moisture better than dry indoor stocks.
  • Oil, syrup, or sugar residue: Sticky residue on the container can reduce adhesion. Wipe and dry bottles or cans before application.
  • Scuffing in transport: Glossy laminate helps protect print from normal rubbing during packing and delivery.
  • Fading or dull display: If drinks will sit in bright displays or outdoor selling conditions, avoid non-waterproof indoor materials and request a quotation with the expected use.

Artwork checklist for beverage label printing

  • Send print-ready artwork as PDF, PNG, or AI at 300 DPI to hello@stickercentral.ph.
  • Include the correct cut shape: rectangle, wrap label, circle, oval, or contour cut.
  • Extend backgrounds beyond the cut line and keep important text away from trim edges.
  • Leave clear space for batch codes and expiry or best-before dates if they will be stamped or handwritten after printing.
  • For prepackaged food sold in the Philippines, buyers commonly ask about product name, net content, ingredient list, name and address of manufacturer or distributor, lot or batch identification, and date marking. Confirm current requirements with FDA Philippines.
  • If using transparent PP, avoid relying on very pale text over clear liquid unless you have checked contrast on the actual container.

How to order beverage labels

You can order in two ways. With Self Service, order online without waiting for a quotation: choose the sticker size and specs, upload artwork or make it with the AI Design Generator, set the cut and quantity, then check out. This is useful when your label size and material choice are already clear.

If you need help choosing the material, finish, cut, or quantity, use the quotation route: create an account, request a quotation, send artwork, approve the proof, then we print and ship. Pricing is quoted per order based on size, quantity, material, and finish, so request a quotation for cost.

For design, you may create your own artwork with the AI Design Generator while ordering, ask our design team to prepare the layout in Canva or Photoshop with quotation on request, or request minor edits for free. Payment options include Maya Checkout, Cash on Delivery via J&T Express, bank transfer through BDO, RCBC, EastWest, or BPI, and GCash.
