Skincare labels that fit real bathroom use
Skincare packaging is handled differently from dry retail packaging. A serum bottle may be touched after applying product, a moisturizer jar can pick up oily residue, and a cleanser tube often sits in a humid bathroom. For these conditions, we recommend waterproof PP Matte White or PP Clear/Transparent material with permanent adhesive and matte laminate.
Matte White is the safest choice when you want readable ingredient text, soft clinical branding, and consistent color on amber glass, white jars, or colored tubes. Transparent material is ideal when the container color is part of the design, such as clear glass droppers or minimalist SPF bottles. The tradeoff is that transparent labels need careful artwork planning because white or pale text can lose contrast on dark liquids or tinted packaging.
Which material should you choose?
| Skincare pack | Recommended setup | Why it works |
|---|---|---|
| Serum bottles and glass droppers | PP Matte White or PP Clear/Transparent with permanent adhesive | Good for smooth glass and daily handling; clear film can create a no-label look. |
| Moisturizer jars | PP Matte White with matte laminate | Readable on curved jar sides and suitable for lid labels where hands touch often. |
| Cleanser tubes | PP Matte White 2 or another waterproof PP option suited for curved containers | Tubes flex and curve, so a stronger waterproof film choice helps reduce edge lifting. |
| SPF product bottles | PP Matte White or PP Clear/Transparent with matte laminate | Helps keep a neat retail look despite hand contact and product residue. |
Regular Satin and Hi-gloss are available, but they are not the first recommendation for skincare bottles or tubes because they are not waterproof. They can be useful for dry outer boxes, short-run inserts, or flat indoor packaging where the label will not be exposed to moisture.
Finish and adhesive recommendations
For most skincare brands, matte laminate gives the cleanest finish. It softens glare, supports a clinical or premium minimalist look, and adds a protective layer against scuffing from normal handling. Glossy laminate is also available if you want more shine, while Holographic, Broken Glass, Snow Flakes, and Glitter are better suited for promotional variants or limited-edition products where the effect is intentional.
Use permanent adhesive for tubes, jars, and glass droppers. Skincare containers are often curved, squeezed, or touched with damp hands, so weak adhesion can lead to peeling corners or bubbling. For very tight curves, leave a small gap on wrap labels instead of forcing the label edges to overlap; this reduces tension and helps the label sit flatter.
How to size your skincare label
Before requesting a quotation or ordering online, measure the actual container you will use for production. Do not rely only on supplier photos because bottle shoulders, jar ridges, and tube seams can reduce the usable label area.
- For wrap labels: Measure the straight wall height only, avoiding curved shoulders, tapered bottoms, and caps. Measure the circumference around the container, then subtract a small gap so the ends do not overlap or fight each other on the curve.
- For front labels: Measure the flat or least-curved front panel. Leave room around the edges so the label does not cross onto a seam, squeeze area, or heavy curve.
- For jar lid labels: Measure the flat top area inside any rim. If the lid has texture or embossing, test the label position before finalizing the size.
- For tubes: Avoid placing important text too close to the crimp, cap edge, or side seam. Tube flexing can make small text harder to read if placed near high-stress areas.
Our maximum print area is 13 x 19 inches per sheet, and custom shapes or contour cuts are available. If you have multiple variants, you can prepare separate files for each scent, formula, shade, or SPF level so the artwork remains organized during proofing.
What can go wrong, and how to prevent it
Peeling on curves usually happens when the label is too wide for the container or the material is forced over a sharp curve. Keep the label on the straight wall area, leave a wrap gap, and use permanent adhesive.
Condensation and bathroom humidity can damage non-waterproof paper labels. Waterproof PP materials are recommended for primary skincare containers that may sit near sinks, showers, or damp shelves.
Oil, cream, and sunscreen residue can make labels look dirty or cause ink areas to scuff faster. Matte laminate adds a protective surface, but it is still wise to avoid placing labels where product is dispensed or wiped frequently.
Fading and low contrast can happen when pale artwork is printed on clear material over a dark or colored container. For transparent labels, check contrast using the actual bottle, jar, or tube color before approving the proof.
Artwork checklist for skincare labels
- Send print-ready PDF, PNG, or AI files at 300 DPI to hello@stickercentral.ph.
- Use readable font sizes for ingredients, directions, and batch information, especially on small serum bottles.
- Keep important text away from the cut line, corners, tube seams, and curved shoulders.
- For transparent labels, decide which design areas should have no background and check contrast on the actual container.
- Prepare separate files for each variant name, ingredient list, net content, batch field, or date field.
- For cosmetics sold in the Philippines, buyers commonly ask about product name and function, ingredient list, net content, country of manufacture, company name and address, batch number, and manufacturing or expiry date.
- Small containers may place some details on an outer box or leaflet; confirm current container-label requirements with FDA Philippines.
How ordering works
Option 1: Self Service
You can order online without waiting for a quotation. Choose the sticker size and specs, upload your artwork or create it with the AI Design Generator, set the cut and quantity, then check out. This works well when your size, material, and finish are already decided.
Option 2: Request a quotation
If you need help choosing between matte white, transparent, laminate options, or contour cuts, create an account and request a quotation. Send your artwork, review and approve the proof, then we print and ship. Pricing is quoted per order based on size, quantity, material, and finish, so please request a quotation for cost questions.
For design help, you can use the AI Design Generator while ordering, ask our design team to create the label in Canva or Photoshop with quotation on request, or send an existing file for free minor edits. Payment options include Maya Checkout, Cash on Delivery via J&T Express, bank transfer through BDO, RCBC, EastWest, or BPI, and GCash.
