Labels made for cold milk tea service
Milk tea packaging has a harder job than many dry retail labels. A cup label may be applied to PET cups, handled by staff, exposed to cold drink condensation, then rubbed against a delivery bag or cup carrier before the customer even takes the first photo. For most milk tea cup and bottle applications, the practical starting point is PP White waterproof material with permanent adhesive, finished with glossy laminate for bright drink-shop branding.
This setup is recommended because PP film handles moisture better than paper-based indoor materials. The permanent adhesive is suited for PET cups and bottle applications, while glossy lamination helps protect the print surface from scuffing at busy service counters. If your label is for a dry menu sticker, box sticker, or short-term indoor promo on a flat surface, Regular Satin or Hi-gloss may be considered, but they are not waterproof and are not the safe pick for sweaty cold cups.
Which material should you choose?
| Use | Suggested option | Why it fits |
|---|---|---|
| Takeaway cup front labels | PP Glossy White 1 or PP Glossy White 2 with glossy laminate | Waterproof white film keeps colors solid and readable on cold cups. |
| Curved PET cups and bottles | PP Glossy White 2 | Better suited for curved containers, rougher handling, and waterproof applications. |
| Refrigerated bottled milk tea | PP Glossy White 3 | Made for refrigerated or harder-to-stick applications requiring stronger adhesion. |
| Clear bottle or cup designs | PP Clear/Transparent | Creates a no-background look on clear packaging, but white ink effects should be planned carefully in the artwork. |
| Powder pouches | PP Glossy White or PP Matte White | Choose glossy for bright colors or matte for a softer shelf look. |
Glossy, matte, or specialty finish?
For milk tea cup labels, glossy laminate is the usual recommendation because it makes fruit teas, brown sugar drinks, matcha, taro, and brand colors look more vivid. It also adds a protective surface for labels that will be touched repeatedly during service. Matte laminate gives a cleaner, softer look and reduces shine, which can fit premium powder pouches or minimalist bottled drinks.
Specialty laminations such as holographic, broken glass, snow flakes, and glitter are available when you want a limited-edition or promo look. Use them carefully: a busy effect can reduce readability on small ingredient text, QR codes, or batch-date areas. For main ordering information, flavor names, or required food label details, keep the background calm and the contrast high.
How to size milk tea labels correctly
For PET cups
Measure the straight wall height of the area where the sticker will sit, not the full cup height. Avoid the rim, bottom curve, and tapered sections where the label may wrinkle or lift. For a front logo label, measure the flat-looking visual area when the cup faces the customer. For a wrap label, measure around the cup at the label height, then subtract a small gap so the ends do not overlap.
For bottles
Check if the bottle wall is straight or curved. A label on a straight bottle panel is easier to apply smoothly, while a label crossing a shoulder or heavy curve can peel at the edges. For wrap labels, measure the circumference at the exact height where the label will be applied and leave a gap between the two ends.
For sealing film labels
Sealing film labels should not interfere with cup sealing or straw puncture areas. If the sticker is used as a flavor marker, promo seal, or order identifier, keep it away from areas that may be stretched, heated, or pierced during service. Choose a shape that staff can apply quickly during rush hours.
For powder pouches
Measure the flat front or back panel only. Do not extend the artwork into gussets, heat seals, zipper tracks, or fold lines unless you have tested the pouch surface. Leave space for product name, flavor, net content, lot or batch marking, and date marking if these are added after printing.
Common milk tea label problems and how to prevent them
- Peeling on curved cups: Keep the label within the straighter area of the cup and avoid oversized rectangles that fight the taper.
- Condensation and cup sweating: Use waterproof PP instead of non-waterproof paper materials for cold drink labels.
- Scuffing at the counter: Add glossy laminate when labels will be stacked, rubbed, or handled during pickup and delivery.
- Weak readability: Use strong contrast between text and background, especially for flavors, add-ons, and date codes.
- Fading brand impact: Start with high-resolution artwork at 300 DPI so logos, pearls, fruit graphics, and small text print cleanly.
Artwork checklist for milk tea labels
- Send artwork as PDF, PNG, or AI at 300 DPI to hello@stickercentral.ph.
- Prepare the final size based on the actual cup, bottle, sealing film, or pouch panel.
- Keep important text away from cut lines and curved edges.
- Use high contrast for flavor names, sugar level cues, QR codes, and reorder details.
- Leave clear space for batch codes and expiry dates if they are stamped or handwritten after printing.
- For prepackaged food sold in the Philippines, check FDA Administrative Order No. 2014-0030 on labelling of prepackaged food and confirm current requirements with FDA Philippines.
- Typical label elements buyers ask about include product name, net content, ingredient list, name and address of manufacturer or distributor, lot or batch identification, and date marking such as best before or expiry.
How ordering works
You can order in two ways. With Self Service, order online without waiting for a quotation: choose the sticker size and specs, upload your artwork or make it with the AI Design Generator, set the cut and quantity, then check out. This works well when you already know the label size, material, finish, and quantity.
If you need help choosing the correct specification, use the quotation option: create an account, request a quotation, send artwork, approve the proof, then we print and ship. Pricing is quoted per order based on size, quantity, material, and finish, so use the Request a quotation button for costing. Minor edits are free; if you need a new layout, our team can design it in Canva or Photoshop, quoted on request.
Production is 1-3 days after proof approval, with a 1 PM cutoff for same-day shipping. Orders are shipped via J&T Express, with estimated delivery of 1-3 days for Luzon, 3-5 days for Visayas, and 4-7 days for Mindanao. Payment options include Maya Checkout, Cash on Delivery via J&T Express, bank transfer through BDO, RCBC, EastWest, or BPI, and GCash.
Print size and cutting options
The maximum print area is 13 x 19 inches per sheet. Custom shapes and contour cuts are available for logo stickers, cup badges, seal labels, pouch labels, and bottle wraps. If you are unsure whether your design should be a circle, oval, rectangle, or custom cut, request a quotation and include a photo of the container so the label can be planned around curves, seams, and application space.
